About 15k people marched onto Broad St from the State Capitol to Monroe Park to voice to opposition and anger at the Trump administration’s handling of the country on October 18th 2025. Three local Richmond Chess Clubs (VCU Chess, RVA Pieces, and Freak Chess Club) came together to play chess as a form of protest and unity. All kings were removed from the boards and players brought their own object as a substitute for kings.
